Almost Heaven Kayak Adventures offers a wide variety of team building activities that you can use to build your employees' relationships and abilities while on retreat in a scenic paradise. In addition to an exclusive eco kayak tour, we offer group development focused on communications, teamwork, leadership, process improvement, trust and so much more.

The activities are facilitated by two proven professionals, David and Kristen Wells. Kristen has over 15 years of human resource and marketing experience in a variety of business environments, including small businesses, Fortune 500s, agencies, and international.  She also holds an undergraduate degree in Communication Studies, a Masters of Art degree in organizational development and a MBA in marketing.

David Wells is an expert kayaker, successful business owner, and has in-depth knowledge about the local environment and native eco systems. What most people don’t know is that David has over 25 years of professional counseling experience, including group and individual therapy, and hold three degrees in business management, economics and pyschology.

This dynamic duo will facilitate your Team Building and Group Activities, including:

Cooperative Games, Socialization Activities, Ice-Breakers: fun activities designed to reduce inhibitions and break down barriers. These events are not based on a defined task but on a sequence of events. Participants are placed in positions where they are encouraged to try new things that may place them outside their normal comfort zones. These activities will foster skills in leadership, communications, and strategic planning. (Sand Castle Building Contest, Family Feud, Did You Know?)

Group Initiatives: exercises involving real and imaginary ground-based obstacles that challenge a group to pool resources and work together to find solutions. Success is achieved only when all members have contributed to the outcome. These will focus on team bonding, time management, process improvement, and communications skills. (Paddle/Life Vest Formation, Treasure Hunt)

Trust Activities: activities designed to provide participants the opportunity to demonstrate their trust in others through a series of sequenced actions. These will help improve creative problem solving, conflict identification, communications and change management. (Sand Dead Falls, Kayak Relay Races)
